About Summer
Summer Calaway was seemingly destined to be the next country music superstar.
The Minco-Oklahoma native had earned local acclaim for her sultry, full voice and classic covers of Etta James’ At Last. She gigged from Nashville to deep Texas every weekend for years, opening for increasingly bigger acts: Blackhawk, Ty Herndon and Leann Rimes. After opening for the two-time Grammy winner, Rimes, the show’s promoter walked up to Summer, looked her in the eyes and said, “Tonight, you out sang the headliner.”
Hundreds of shows passed and the 20-something singer was building a following, but the allure of the spotlight cooled. She dreamed only of quiet mornings drinking coffee from the porch at the family farm while watching the sunrise. “After every show I just wanted to go home,” Summer said. “I loved the freedom of performing and my voice had matured. I truly honed my craft during those years, but fame was no longer the goal. The season had changed.”
Summer returned home, earned three college degrees and met the love of her life and future husband, Adam (a handsome ginger), while singing the national anthem at a sporting event.
They made their home together in southern Oklahoma (so they could drink coffee and watch sunrises together). Summer continues to train her voice and scratch her acting itch with theater work (she’s been everything from a baroness to a nun) and even a role in an independent movie (a villainous cowgirl).
Today, Summer brings together two decades of vocal training and performing to each client’s project.
